Growing up, tennis was something my parents signed me up for — not something I chose. But somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like an obligation and became something I genuinely loved. What surprised me most wasn't the game itself, but the people it brought into my life. Some of my most meaningful friendships started on a court, and that's when I realized tennis is so much more than a sport — it's a place where real connections are made. That belief is at the heart of everything I do with Black Girls in Tennis, because I want other women to experience that same sense of belonging and joy that the game gave me.
