Ashley Spironello - Ontario

Tennis has always meant more to me than just a sport—it’s part of who I am. I fell in love with it at a young age, almost instantly, when I realized I had finally found a sport I could beat my older brothers at. Over time, tennis has helped me grow in so many ways and has given me opportunities and experiences throughout my life that I wouldn’t haven’t have had access to otherwise. 

I wanted to become a GSE Regional Ambassador to help as many girls as possible stay in tennis because I’ve seen how powerful it can be. The confidence, resilience, and strength it builds in teen girls—both on and off the court—is truly immeasurable. Being able to support and inspire other girls to keep playing and believe in themselves is extremely rewarding. 

Outside of the Regional Ambassador role, I serve as the Girls. Set. Match. Coordinator for Ontario and work as a Tennis and Pickleball Instructor at Headwaters Racquet Club. I enjoy meeting and coaching players of all ages and abilities. When I’m not on the court, I love spending time with my husband, Andrew, and our two children, Jordyn and Jace.

Erin Routliffe would be my dream doubles partner —not just because she’s an amazing player, but also because she always seems to have so much fun on the court. 

Leylah Annie Fernandez is my favourite Canadian tennis player. I’m always amazed at how much power she generates despite her smaller size, and her tenacity to never give up, no matter what the score is, is inspiring
