Biography

Harry Fauquier competed in the 1969 French Open and lost to the famous Arthur Ashe in the first round of the main draw in straight sets. He competed in singles and doubles at the Canadian Open twice in 1969 and 1971 and advanced to the third round in 1969 after defeating American Ron Holmberg in a fifth set super-tiebreaker.

In doubles play, Fauquier reached the semifinals at the 1969 Canadian Open with Australian partner John Sharpe after defeating fellow Canadians Robert Bedard and Lawrie Strong in the quarter-finals. Fauquier and Sharpe lost in the semis to American Ron Holmberg and Australian John Newcombe 6-2, 3-6, 3-6.

In 1971, Fauquier competed at the Canadian Open with fellow Canadian Keith Carpenter as they reached the second round.

Fauquier and Carpenter now operate a tennis court construction company called Tennex Systems, Inc.
