Tennis Month - Women & Girls in Sport: Leadership Conference

Event Overview

As the first conference of its kind for tennis in Edmonton, this special event will bring together leaders, athletes, coaches, and mentors who are helping shape the future of women and girls in sport. As this is an exclusive invite-only event, you have been selected in recognition of your valuable contributions and impact within the tennis community. We are honored to celebrate and learn alongside individuals who continue to inspire growth, leadership, and positive change in our sport.

The conference will feature: Interviews with guest speakers and engaging panel discussions, networking opportunities with leaders in sport and business, leadership award presentation, lunch and refreshments, and gift bags.

We are proud to welcome three outstanding guest speakers. The event will be facilitated by Lisa MacGregor, Journalist, Anchor / Reporter & Host. 

Stacey Fung – Professional Tennis Player and Coach
A Vancouver-based professional tennis player and former NCAA All-American, Stacey achieved a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 222 and has proudly represented Canada internationally, including competing at the Australian Open. Today, she mentors and coaches many of Tennis Canada’s top junior athletes, sharing her experience and passion for helping the next generation succeed both on and off the court.

Bridget Casey – Financial Expert & Entrepreneur
Bridget Casey is an award-winning Canadian entrepreneur, financial educator, and co-host of the top-ranked podcast Money Feels. With more than 100,000 followers across social media, she has become a trusted voice in personal finance and has been featured by TIME Money, Forbes, CBC, BNN, and The Globe & Mail. Bridget brings an empowering and practical approach to financial literacy and leadership.

Dr. Shazma Mithani – Emergency Physician & Healthcare Advocate
Dr. Shazma Mithani is an emergency physician, health systems advocate, and respected public voice on healthcare in Canada. Through powerful storytelling and frontline experience, she speaks about leadership, resilience, and creating meaningful change within complex systems. Her insight and authenticity continue to inspire audiences across healthcare and beyond.

  • The Women & Girls in Sport: Leadership Conference is designed to provide an inclusive, welcoming, and empowering environment for women and girls involved in sport. Although attendance is by invitation, invitations have been extended to a diverse group of athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, administrators, and community leaders who represent a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives within the tennis and sport communities.  The conference will feature speakers from sport, healthcare, and business, providing attendees with exposure to diverse leadership journeys and role models. By showcasing women who have succeeded in different fields, the event aims to inspire participants and demonstrate that leadership opportunities exist both within and beyond sport.  The venue has been selected to accommodate a variety of accessibility needs, including barrier-free access and accessible facilities. Attendees will be encouraged to communicate any accommodation requirements in advance so that reasonable supports can be arranged whenever possible.
