Felix Auger-Aliassime (CAN)

Félix Auger-Aliassime’s bows out at the Millennium Estoril Open after losing to Sebastian Korda 6-2, 6-2 in the ATP 250 Tournament’s quarter-finals.

Auger-Aliassime struggled to find his rhythm early in the match while Korda took advantage breaking the young Canadian early and did not look back. Taking the first set 6-2, the 21-year old American, used his momentum from the first set to break Auger-Aliassime early in the second set.

Despite putting a great effort to push Korda around the court with long let rallies and depth, Auger-Aliassime could not surmount a comeback losing the second set 6-2. Auger-Aliassime was the No.1 seed at the Millennium Estoril Open, in a singles draw of 32. After a bye in the first round, Auger-Aliassime defeated Spaniard Carlos Taberner in the second round.

Auger-Aliassime will look to rebound going into the Mutua Madrid Open (May 1-8) as the clay season continues.
