2025 Steve Stevens Masters Tennis Championships Underway in Vancouver

Canada’s most prestigious Masters tennis event is underway as Vancouver hosts the 2025 Steve Stevens Masters Tennis Championships.

The competition will feature 573 of Canada’s best Masters tennis players across the combined 45 singles and doubles draws, with every age group being a block of five years ranging from 30+ to 80+. The events will be split between various clubs around Vancouver including the Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club, The Arbutus Club, Jericho Tennis Club, and Richmond Country Club.

On the men’s side, there are 11 draws for both singles and doubles which are all standard elimination brackets.

The eldest age group, 80+, has 12 entries for singles and eight for doubles. The 65+ men’s singles draw features the most entries across the entire tournament with 35 competing for No. 1 seed David James Fairbotham’s title.

There will also be an eight-player bonus draw for the men’s 45+ singles.

For the women’s singles draws, all but one are standard elimination brackets. The 75+ draw is a round robin with two groups – Group A has three players; Group B has four. The winners of each group will compete for the title.

The women’s 55+ singles have the most competitors with 28. The national championships will also host a four-player bonus draw for the women’s 35+ singles.

For women’s doubles, all ten draws are standard elimination, but there will not be a women’s 80+ doubles competition due to there being no entries.

Play began on Sunday, Aug. 24 and will conclude on Saturday, Aug. 30.
