The Repentigny National Bank Junior Tennis Championships (ITJR) concluded Saturday, with champions crowned in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions.

Held at Parc Larochelle in Repentigny, Quebec, the J300 tournament saw France’s Ksenia Efremova and Brazil’s Luis Guto Miguel emerge as singles champions. Miguel swept the podium on the boys’ side, also winning the doubles event alongside Slovenia’s Ziga Sesko.

No. 4 seed Efremova began her road to the title with a straight-set victory over Canadian wild card Ziye Liu. The 16-year-old then beat four seeds, including Chinese players Yushan Shao (No. 2 seed) in the semi-final and Yihan Qu (No. 7 seed) in the championship match, to capture her second title of the season. Efremova did not lose a set throughout the tournament, conceding only 19 games in five matches.

In the boys’ division, No. 3 seed Miguel edged past American Sean Grosman 6-0, 6-7(7), 6-3 in his opening match, before defeating No. 5 seed Kuan-Shou Chen of Chinese Taipei, No. 1 seed Sesko, and No. 11 seed Gavin Goode of the United States en route to the title.

This was Miguel's second singles crown of the season, after winning the J300 Charleroi-Marcinelle in May, where Efremova also won her previous title.

It was a busy week for the singles champions, as Efremova and Miguel both reached the title match in doubles in their respective divisions.

Efremova and partner Kali Supova of Slovakia were the top seeds and finished as runners-up, losing by walkover to all-American duo of Carrie-Anne Hoo and Kaya Moe. Hoo and Moe won a thrilling semi-final match against their compatriots Kennedy Drenser-Hagmann and Karlin Schock 6-4, 3-6, 10-8.

Miguel and Sesko, the No. 1 seeds in the boys’ draw, also survived a semi-final battle 6-4, 3-6, 10-7, before comfortably beating No. 4 seeds Yannik Alvarez of Puerto Rico and Ryan Cozad of the United States 6-1, 6-2 in the final.
