U14 Outdoor Junior Nationals Underway in Laval

A few days after the Under 12 Championships concluded at Carrefour Multisports in Laval, QC, the 2025 Under 14 Fischer Outdoor Junior National Championships get underway on the clay on Wednesday.

Alden Yu of British Columbia looks sweep the year’s national titles, having hoisted the boys’ singles and doubles trophies at the Indoor Championships in April. Deniz Karabulut of Ontario, Yu’s teammate for their indoor doubles title, is also a part of the field for the Outdoor Championships. Karabulut was a singles runner-up in last year’s edition.

Oscar Sounitsky of Ontario comes in as the 2024 U12 outdoor singles champion, joined by the year’s finalist Ethan Levy.

Participating in the girls’ field is Milagros Helena Pastuszka who was a member of Canada’s U14 team that earned a best-ever finish at the World Junior Tennis Finals earlier in August.

Fresh off a singles finalist and doubles champion run at the U12 Outdoor Championships, Callie Raharinosy of Ontario joins the U14 field, in search of yet another trip to a national final.

No defending champions are a part of either draw as new champions will be crowned in Laval, with the doubles finals on Tuesday, August 26 and the singles finals on Wednesday, August 27.
