Heading into the 2025-26 NCAA tennis season, Cadence Brace is at the head of the pack of Canucks. The 20-year-old Torontonian is starting into her second season at Louisiana State University and is in the spotlight already.

Here is the monthly university tennis update.

Brace will begin the 2025-26 collegiate season south of the border as the top Canadian in both singles and doubles. In the pre-season rankings that were recently released on Aug. 26, Brace was the lone Canadian to be ranked in the Top 10 of singles, male or female, coming in at No. 4. The 20-year-old went 14-6 in singles in 2024-25 but finished on a tear, winning her last seven completed matches in a row and 10 of her last 11.

In doubles, Brace is the joint-No. 6 with her fellow Canadian and LSU teammate Kayla Cross. The two Canucks went 12-4 together as a pair last season.

Mélodie Collard finished the 2024-25 season with the highest ranking of any Canadian, ending the year at No. 3 in women’s doubles. She heads into her senior year at the University of Virginia at No. 9 in the doubles rankings. Collard is the defending national doubles champion. The national individual championships will take place in November.
