Team Canada was seeing quadruple on Friday at the North, Central America, and Caribbean qualifying round of the ITF World Junior Team Competitions at IGA Stadium in Montreal.
The situation was the exact same for all four Canadian teams heading into the final day: beat Mexico, and you qualify for the team event finals later in the year. All four Canadian squads were successful, with the Billie Jean King Cup Juniors and Davis Cup Juniors teams winning 3-0, while the U14 World Junior Tennis boys and girls both pulled out doubles wins in the deciding matches of their ties to qualify with 2-1 victories.
It is the second year in a row that all four Canadian teams successfully qualified for the Finals.
The first of the Canadian squads to punch their ticket to the Finals was the U16 Billie Jean King Cup Juniors squad, who quieted any potential drama with a pair of quick singles wins.

Elisabeth Djabourian got things rolling for the hosts. Having only played doubles so far this week, she cruised to victory in her first singles match, beating Monserrat Montano 6-4, 6-2 to give the Canadians a quick lead. Amy Shen then sealed the deal for Team Canada in dramatic fashion, double-bageling Montserrat Temprana Flaco to clinch the tie and the spot in the Billie Jean King Cup Juniors Finals.

With qualification already assured, Djabourian and Shen finished off a perfect end to the week, winning the doubles 6-2, 6-1 over Montano and Miranda Renee Fernandez Figuera to complete the sweep.
Their male counterparts in the Davis Cup Juniors had a slightly tougher time in their clash with Mexico, but the result was ultimately the same, with Canada winning 3-0 to qualify for the Davis Cup Juniors Finals.

Callum Mackinnon had to battle through the opening singles match with Jaime Gomez Lopez but managed to emerge victorious in three sets 6-4, 2-6, 6-3. With a chance to clinch the tie, Antoine Tardif managed to get it done in straight sets, defeating Juan Pablo Barriga Martinez 6-2, 6-4. Mackinnon and Tardif finished off the tie with a 6-4, 6-4 win in doubles over Barriga Martinez and Gomez Lopez.

Canada’s two U14 teams both had to go the distance in their respective ties, with each one coming down to a match tiebreak in the doubles.
After only playing doubles the first two days for the U14 boys, Liam Suh took full advantage of his first nod in singles on Friday. He defeated Andres Daniel De La Cruz Gonzalez 6-4, 6-1 in the opening match to give the Canadians a quick lead. However, the Mexicans responded in the second singles, with Patricio Alvarez Chavez beating Yvan-Raphael Mefire 6-2, 6-4 to send the tie to a deciding doubles match.

The doubles ended up being a thriller, with the Mefire and Suh rallying from a set down, winning a pair of tiebreaks to squeak out the dramatic 4-6, 7-6(3), 10-7 victory. That win won Canada the tie and punched their ticket to Prostejov, Czechia in August.

The U14 girls had to mount a couple of comebacks in their tie to clinch their spot in the finals. They trailed early after Callie Raharinosy fell in the opening match to Renata Pacheco Lopez in straight sets, but Brielle Amey stepped up to level the tie with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win over Elsa Lauren Pinko Boiko.
In the doubles, Amey and Raharinosy appeared to be in trouble after dropping the opening set but cruised the rest of the way. They had the upper hand throughout the second set and match tiebreak, roaring back for a 5-7, 6-1, 10-2 win which sealed the tie and the place in Prostejov for Canada.
