September was a quieter month on the World Tennis Masters Tour in Canada, with just a single event on the calendar in the Great White North. But the hosts took full advantage of their one opportunity to play on home soil, dominating the event on the east coast.
Here is the monthly Masters Tennis update by ABRYSVO.
Dartmouth, NS, played host to the Atlantic Masters midway through the month. The Canadians showed up in a big way, getting at least one hand on every trophy at the MT100 event.
Of the 19 draws in Dartmouth, a Canadian was victorious in every single one. They won all of the singles draws and all-Canadian teams were victorious in seven of the ten doubles draws. Of the remaining three winning doubles pairs, each one included at least one Canadian.
The 40+ division was primarily dominated by two Canadians, as Dan Jockel and Susie Callaghan each won the singles and doubles titles in their respective gender groups. Daphne Mitchell also doubled up in the women's 60+ events.

Only two non-Canadians got their hands on trophies in Halifax, and both had to share with a local. Travis McDonough of Ireland won the 40+ mixed doubles with Katie Mallan and the 50+ men's doubles with Peter Justin McDonough, both Canadian. France's Johanne Leger won the 70+ women's doubles with Canada's Deborah Karrel.
