On Tuesday, Tennis Canada confirmed its full 2026 National Event Calendar, with 84 tournaments set to take place across the country this year. This follows the announcement in February of the schedule of events from January through to July.

Highlights of the 2026 season include the return of the Odlum Brown VanOpen – Canada’s second-largest tournament after the National Bank Open presented by Rogers (NBO) – and the Eastern and Western Canadian Indoor Masters Championships. The schedule will also feature a new ATP Challenger 125 in Quebec City, Quebec – the Québec National Bank Challenger presented by Cromwell – bringing the total to five ATP Challenger-level tournaments in Canada for the first time since 2022. Through a partnership with Bolt6, electronic line-calling (ELC) technology will be implemented at all five events.

“The 2026 calendar features a wide range of professional, junior, masters, wheelchair, and beach tennis events, reinforcing Canada’s position as a leading host nation on the international circuit,” said Ryan Borczon, Senior Director of Professional and National Events at Tennis Canada. “With three more professional events than in 2025, two additional masters tournaments, and a record number of beach tennis competitions, we are continuing to create more opportunities for Canadians to compete at all levels of the game and further strengthening the competitive pathway across the country.”

NEW “ROAD TO THE PROS” JUNIOR COMPETITION ANNOUNCED

Following the successful introduction of the Road to the NBO in 2025 – rewarding the Canadian woman and man who have accumulated the most points at professional tournaments in Canada with a wild card to the NBO – the concept expands in 2026 with the launch of the Road to the Pros junior competition. The new initiative aims to encourage Canadian juniors to compete in top events on home soil while providing a tangible pathway to professional competition.

The Road to the Pros competition will use results from major Canadian junior tournaments to determine the players’ overall standings. The five events included are the U18 Fischer Indoor and Outdoor Junior Nationals, the J200 Woodbridge, the J200 Montreal International Junior Tennis Championships, and the J300 Repentigny National Bank Junior Tennis Championships. The Outdoor Junior Nationals, held in August, will carry the highest points value, equivalent to a J500 event. The top player in both the boys’ and girls’ categories from these tournaments will each receive a wild card to one of the Canadian professional events in the fall.

“The response to the Road to NBO has been overwhelmingly positive – from players, tournaments, and fans – and it’s shown just how meaningful these opportunities can be,” said Richard Quirion, Director, Professional and International Events, Quebec, at Tennis Canada. “Extending this concept to the junior level and linking it to some of Canada’s biggest junior tournaments is a natural next step. It creates even more opportunity for young athletes to compete on home soil while giving tournaments and fans the chance to support more home-grown talent as they progress through the ranks.”
