They say save your best for last. It seems Victoria Mboko and Félix Auger-Aliassime are doing exactly that.
The top two Canadians both delivered big results in their final regular tour events of 2025, although the season is not over yet. Mboko will have one more chance to hit the courts this year, while Auger-Aliassime has to wait and see whether or not he has one more tournament to play.

In Case You Missed It: Mboko’s Back, Auger-Aliassime Delivers in the Clutch
Victoria Mboko had a tough time after her dramatic victory in Montreal, but it certainly looks like the 19-year-old has re-found her game. Mboko lifted her second WTA Tour trophy of the season on Sunday, fighting past Cristina Busca 7-5, 6-7(9), 6-2 in the final of the WTA 250 Hong Kong Tennis Open.
The teen did it the hard way in Hong Kong, needing three sets in four of five matches and rallying from a set down three times. Her lone win that was not a three-setter was actually via retirement when Anna Kalinskaya pulled out in the second set of their quarter-final.
For the second week in a row, Mboko had to face off with a compatriot, this time in the semifinals against Leylah Annie Fernandez, who she edged past in three sets before beating Busca for the title. Including the ITF Tour, Mboko has won seven titles in 2025.
Fernandez had reached the semifinals in Hong Kong without dropping a set.
As a result of her title, Mboko entered the Top 20 in the WTA rankings for the first time, landing at a new career-high of No. 18, more than 300 spots above where she started the year.
Heading into the Paris Masters last week, Félix Auger-Aliassime's path to qualifying for the ATP Finals looked very slim. But needing a big result to stay in contention for Turin, the Montrealer delivered in a big way.
Like Mboko, Auger-Aliassime found ways to win when the odds seemed stacked against him. He rallied from a set down three times in a row to reach the quarter-finals, where he found another gear. Taking advantage of a draw that had fallen apart around him, he cruised past the in-form Valentin Vacherot to reach the semis, where he then beat Alexander Bublik in straight sets to reach his second Masters 1000 final.
Just by reaching the final, Auger-Aliassime leapfrogged Lorenzo Musetti into the eighth and final qualifying spot for the ATP Finals. The Canadian would have clinched had he won the title, but he was edged out in two tight sets by Jannik Sinner.
Still, heading into the final week of regular tour events, Auger-Aliassime is in position to qualify for the ATP Finals for a second time.
Gabriel Diallo beat Tallon Griekspoor to reach the second round in Paris, where he lost in three sets to sixth seed Alex de Minaur. Denis Shapovalov lost in the second round to Joao Fonseca.

What to Watch: Dabrowski Eyes Back-to-Back Titles in Riyadh
Gabriela Dabrowski is looking for the biggest title defence of her career this week as she and Erin Routliffe are looking to go back-to-back at the WTA Finals in Riyadh.
The US Open champions are playing just their second event together since securing their second major title in September as Dabrowski took time off after their victory in New York. They are the third seeds this week in Saudi Arabia and got off to a winning start on Sunday, beating Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider in straight sets in their first group-stage match.
Dabrowski and Routliffe are in the Liezel Huber Group and still have to play second seeds Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend, the pair they beat to win both last year’s WTA Finals and this year’s US Open, and seventh seeds Timea Babos and Luisa Stefani. The top two teams in each group advance to the semifinals.
Félix Auger-Aliassime will be keeping a close eye on the results from the ATP 250 event in Athens this week. The new World No. 8 withdrew from Metz after his run to the Paris final, meaning his hopes of qualifying for the ATP Finals now rest on Lorenzo Musetti and his opposition in the Greek capital.
Heading into the final week of regular tour events, Auger-Aliassime sits in the final qualifying spot for Turin. But since he pulled out of his event, he cannot clinch on his own, meaning he needs Musetti to lose in Athens in order to qualify for the ATP Finals for a second time.
The good news for Auger-Aliassime is that the only way for Musetti to sneak past him in the Race to Turin is by winning the title in Athens. Anything less and the Montrealer will qualify for the year-end championships.
Under the Radar: Stakusic Finding Form
Victoria Mboko is not the only member of Canada’s Billie Jean King Cup team for the upcoming play-offs building momentum ahead of the ties in Monterrey.
Marina Stakusic won her first title in over a year last week at the ITF W100 event in Irapuato, Mexico in dominant fashion. The 20-year-old did not drop a set on her way to the title. In her first three matches, Stakusic lost just nine games, delivering at least one bagel set in each match. She took down second seed Hanne Vandewinkel in the semis before besting Elvina Kalieva 6-2, 6-2 in the final.
Stakusic is up to five professional singles titles on the ITF and WTA 125 tours. Her biggest title came last October, also in Mexico, at a WTA 125 event in Tampico.

Two ITF events on Canadian soil took place last week but no Canucks were able to lift a trophy. Kayla Cross reached the semifinals of both singles and doubles at the Tevlin Challenger in Toronto but was unable to reach the final in either draw. At the men’s event in Trois-Rivieres, Nicaise Muamba was beaten in the doubles semifinal.

South of the border, Justin Boulais delivered the best Canadian result on the ATP Challenger Tour last week, reaching the doubles final at an event in Charlottesville, where he and American partner Mac Kiger lost a heartbreaker 12-10 in the match tiebreak. It was the third ATP Challenger final of Boulais’ career and first outside of Canada.
