Harriet Dart’s seventh career title was her biggest as the Brit secured her first ITF W75 title at the Tevlin Challenger at Sobeys Stadium in Toronto.

The No. 3 seed cruised through the opening two rounds, dropping just six games en route to the quarter-final. Dart’s third match was the toughest of her championship run, needing three sets to defeat No. 5 seed Viktoria Hruncakova.

The semifinals featured Canada’s top two seeds – Kayla Cross (4) and Katherine Sebov (8) – but the Ontarians fell short of setting up an all-Canadian final for the second time in the tournament’s 20-year history.

Sebov lost 6-4, 6-0 to Dart, while Cross went the distance against Fiona Crawley, who had stunned top seed and defending champion Louisa Chirico in the quarter-final, but the American came out on top 7-5, 3-6, 6-2.

In the final, Dart cruised to the title, converting four of nine break points to win 6-2, 6-2. The triumph puts the Brit back into the WTA Top 200.

Crawley also reached the doubles final alongside countrywoman Jaeda Daniel. The all-American duo faced No. 4 seeds Hruncakova and Anatasia Tikhonova who went from battling for the singles title in Saguenay to hoisting the doubles trophy in Toronto with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.

Milavsky’s Third Title of the Year Comes in Trois-Rivières

Daniel Milavsky won his third title of the season at the ITF M15 Trois-Rivières. The American didn’t drop a set on his path to the final, including taking down No. 8 seed Matt Kuhar in the quarters.

In the bottom half of the draw, American qualifier Theodore Dean went on a remarkable run, defeating third seed Guillaume Dalmasso of France in the quarter-final and second seed Taha Baadi of Morocco in the semis.

The all-American final went the distance, but Dean was unable to take down all top three seeds as the No. 1 seed Milavsky clinched the title 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.

Mikael Arseneault was the lone Canadian to reach the quarter-finals.

A Canuck was one-match away from reaching the doubles final as Laval’s Nicaise Muamba teamed with Baadi. The duo was met with the task of upsetting No. 1 seeds Brian Bozemoj of the Netherlands and Billy Suarez of the USA in the semifinal, but the Dutch-American team ended hopes of a Canadian finalist, winning in straight sets.

Bozemaj and Suarez battled fourth seeds Dean and Oskar Brostrom Poulsen for the title. The American-Danish duo won the opener comfortably before taking a tight second set as Dean ensured he didn’t leave Trois-Rivières without a winner’s trophy, taking the championship match 6-2, 7-5.
