Team Canada is set to face Brazil in the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Play-offs during the week of November 16, 2026. Brazil will be hosting the tie. The choice of playing surface and venue will be confirmed by the Brazilian Tennis Confederation in due course. The draw took place at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) offices in London, United Kingdom, on Thursday.

Team Canada is competing in the Play-offs following its loss in the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers earlier this month. The Canadian team, consisting of Bianca Andreescu, Kayla Cross, Ariana Arseneault, and first-time selection Sasha Vagramov, fell 3-1 to host nation Kazakhstan, who advanced to the 2026 Finals.

Canada, currently ranked No. 8 in the world and seeded No. 2 in the Play-offs draw, will face Brazil (No. 19). The tie marks the 13th meeting between the two nations, with Canada having won all 12 previous encounters. Their most recent matchup came in 2013 in Colombia, where Eugenie Bouchard, Sharon Fichman, and Gabriela Dabrowski secured a 2-1 victory to send Canada to the World Group II Play-offs.

The tie will consist of two singles matches on the first day, followed by a doubles match and two singles matches on the second day, mirroring the format used in Davis Cup play. The 2026 Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers marked the first time in the competition’s history that the doubles match was guaranteed.
