BIOGRAPHY

Jacqueline Boutet played a major role in Tennis Canada exceeding the $20 million financing to transform the old Jarry Park baseball stadium into a magnificent National Tennis Centre and at the same time allowing the Canadian Open to become one of the most prestigious international tournaments.

Boutet put in a lot of hard work and determination and her numerous contacts in both the business and political worlds permitted the realization of an ambitious business project that assured the presentation of major international tennis competitions in Montreal.

Boutet was a member of the Board of Directors of Tennis Canada for a decade and was the chair of the Board from 1995-1998. Even though she left her post on the Board in 2001, Boutet continued to lobby in the private and government sectors to allow Tennis Canada to secure the tens of millions of dollars necessary for facility renovations in Montreal.

Her actions played a big role in 2002 when she was honoured with the Volunteer Award at the 29th Sports-Quebec Gala for her work in tennis. In that same year, Jacqueline was also honoured at the National Assembly with the prestigious Dollard Morin Volunteer Award, outlining her superb contribution as a volunteer at the head of Tennis Canada.
