Fresh off their semifinal win in mixed doubles on Wednesday morning at Roland-Garros, Bianca Andreescu and Michael Venus of New Zealand spoke with TSN about the match against fellow Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and American Nathaniel Lammons as well as preview Thursday’s final on Court Philippe-Chatrier at 6 a.m. ET and the quick chemistry they’ve found on the court together.

“There’s no question how good of a tennis player she is and how well she hits the ball and all the things she does on court, but she’s so positive on the court and bouncing around and it’s just so enjoyable to be around. It kind of lifts me up and helps us both play some good tennis in some tight moments,” Venus said about his partner this week in Paris.

Meanwhile, Andreescu finds herself benefiting greatly from Venus’ extensive experience in doubles and praises the energy he brings to the team.

Looking ahead to the championship match against Miyu Kato and Tim Puetz, Venus will be facing a familiar face in Puetz who he partnered with for all of the 2022 campaign in men’s doubles. They know each other’s games very well which should make for an interesting final.

Andreescu also discussed what it would mean to add a second Grand Slam title to her trophy case to go along with her 2019 U.S. Open singles crown and even dropped a hint that she might be joining forces with Dabrowski on the doubles court during the grass season. That would certainly be a treat, but the 22-year-old has an important piece of business to take care of first.

Fans can watch the French Open mixed doubles final on TSN 1 at 6 a.m. ET.
