The 2025 edition of the U SPORTS Tennis Championships are set to get underway at Saint-Victor Park in Laval, Que. The tournament features the top four men’s and women’s teams across the country, with the women leading things off on Thursday, July 31.
Five-time reigning champions University of Alberta look to make it six on the fly. The Pandas qualified after winning their 14th-straight Western Canadian title and boast a 41-2 record over their five-years of dominance on the national stage.

In search of the upset, Alberta’s semifinal opponents will be the University of Toronto. The Varsity Blues are led by Winnie Choi and Anastasiya Dyadchenko who have combined for the last three OUA player of the year honours.
Université Laval – coming off an undefeated provincial season – and Dalhousie University make up the other semifinal. The final takes place on Saturday, August 2.
Dalhousie is also represented on the men’s side as the Tigers begin the Canadian University Championships against Western University who are led by OUA rookie and player of the year Liam Drover-Mattinen.
Defending champions University of British Columbia are in the second semifinal. The Thunderbirds have won the U SPORTS title twice in the last three years.
UBC open their defence against debutants Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. Les Patriotes captain Jonathan Bédard leads the young side in what will be his last tournament as part of the school.
The men’s title will be handed out on Sunday, August 3.
