Between World Tennis Juniors events at home and abroad, the Fischer Outdoor Junior Nationals, and the U14 World Team Finals, the last few weeks have been among the busiest of 2026 for Canada's juniors.
It all kicked off with a J60 event in Vancouver at the beginning of July and only picked up from there.
Here is the monthly junior tennis update presented by Har-Tru.
Three of the four draws in Vancouver saw Canadian victors, two outright and one shared.
Rachel Wu was crowned champion in the girls singles, not dropping a set on her way to victory. The singles draws in Vancouver featured a round-robin with each group winner advancing to the knockout stage. Wu lost just seven games on her way to winning Group B.

She then beat compatriot Olivia Ma in the quarter-finals before topping American Kiana Smith in the semis. In the final, she bested Renee Huang 6-1, 6-1 in the all-Canadian final to claim the title.
The all-Canadian duo of Paolo Gonzalez Constantino and Callum McKinnon claimed the boys doubles crown, beating their compatriot Morgan Lee and his British partner Oluwajomiloju Aminu 7-5, 7-6(2) in the final. Constantino and McKinnon were the top seeds and did not drop a set on their way to the title.
Canada's Melissa Wang won the girls doubles with her Ukrainian partner Yelyzaveta Dovhopol. They beat the Canadian pair of Wu and Sophie Montemurro 10-4 in the match tiebreak in the final. Wang and Dovhopol were the top seeds but had to battle through match tiebreaks in two of their three matches.

The only draw where the hosts were not victorious was the boys singles, which was won by Dylan Meineke of the United States. Four Canadians made it out of their groups and Constantino and Julian Mahdavi both reached the semis, but the final ended up being an all-American affair between Meineke and Luca Tabidze.
Vancouver was the lone World Tennis Juniors event in Canada over the last few weeks, as the Fischer Outdoor Junior Nationals have been dominating the calendar. The U18, U16, and U12 events have already been completed, while the U14 event begins later this week.

Mefire Younzwe's Monstrous Month
July and early August were full of strong results by Canada's juniors on the Juniors World Tennis Tour, but no one cleaned up quite like Aaron-David Mefire Younzwe. The 16-year-old reached five finals since the beginning of July, three in singles and two in doubles, picking up four titles, including going a perfect 3-0 in singles finals.
From the beginning of July through Aug. 16, Mefire Younzwe's went a staggering 20-1in singles over four events, picking up his first WT Junior title in Santa Tecla, El Salvador before going back-to-back at a pair of events in Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. His only defeat over that span came in the quarter-finals of the second Santa Tecla event.
During his three title runs, he lost just one set.
In doubles, he lost in the final of the second Santa Tecla event but got the job done at the second tournament in Kingstown, bringing home the trophy for his first WT Junior doubles title.

Rankings Update
Canada still has four boys in the Top 100 of the WT Junior rankings, with Benjamin Azar leading the way at No. 59. Joshua Adamson had just entered the Top 100 in early July and, thanks to his J200 win in Rutesheim, Germany, is the No. 2 Canadian at No. 70 in the rankings.
Xavier Massotte is just behind Adamson at No. 72, while Felix Roussel rounds out the group at No. 81.
Nadia Lagaev is the top Canadian on the girls side at No. 41, with Avery Alexander joining her in the Top 100 at No. 68.
