Team Canada has been drawn in Group A alongside Denmark and host nation Mexico in the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Play-Off. The event will take place from November 14-16 at Club Sonoma in Monterrey, Mexico.
“I’m looking forward to returning to the Billie Jean King Cup competition this fall,” said Team Canada captain Heidi El Tabakh. “Our competition will be tough, with both Mexico and Denmark posing unique challenges, but our team is ready to compete against the best nations in the world. I’m confident they’ll rise to this occasion and achieve our goal of returning to the 2026 Qualifiers.”
Canada will take part in the Play-Off after missing out on a place in the Finals following April’s Qualifiers. There, the Canadian team consisting of Rebecca Marino, Marina Stakusic, and first-time selections Victoria Mboko, Kayla Cross, and Ariana Arseneault beat Romania 3-0 but lost 2-1 to hosts Japan, who advanced to November’s showpiece event.
Team Canada last played Team Mexico in Billie Jean King Cup competition in January 2008 at Club Deportivo El Rodeo in Medellín, Colombia. Canadians Aleksandra Wozniak, Stéphanie Dubois, and Marie-Ève Pelletier combined to defeat Team Mexico 3-0. The last time Team Canada and Team Denmark faced off against each other at the Billie Jean King Cup was in July 1991. Team Canada won the tie 2-1.

The three-day, round-robin Play-Off format will see each team face each other in a one-day tie consisting of two singles and a doubles match. The winner of the round robin will advance to the 2026 Qualifiers, while the two remaining nations will compete in Regional Group I next year.
The players representing Team Canada, Team Mexico, and Team Denmark this November will be confirmed in the coming months.
