It’s never too early to start thinking about the 2027 National Bank Open presented by Rogers.
Several Canadians will begin their hunt for a Montreal main-draw spot as soon as this week at the W50 Quebec City, with the first points on the women’s Road to the NBO up for grabs.
The host nation is led by the event’s top seed Katherine Sebov. The 27-year-old from Toronto won her first-round contest at this year’s National Bank Open – her first WTA 1000 match win since 2023 – as she sets her sights on title No. 1 of the season. Sebov plays countrywoman Francoise Abanda, who qualified for her first World Tennis main draw since July.
Fellow Canadian Cadence Brace arrives in the Quebec capital as the third seed. The Torontonian made her National Bank Open debut last August and hoisted her second W35 trophy later that month in Barueri, Brazil. The 21-year-old now seeks the biggest title of her career in Quebec City, opening the event versus American qualifier Lilian Poling.
Ariana Arseneault looks to achieve the same as her first-round match comes against second seed Justina Mikulskyte of Lithuania. The Richmond Hillian was crowned champion in Quebec earlier this season, winning her first World Tennis title at the W15 Trois-Rivieres in March.

Arseneault also enters as the doubles top seed, teaming with Raphaëlle Lacasse who was last year’s titlist alongside Alexandra Vagramov, when the event was a W35.
Avery Alexander will be the youngest Canuck in the singles draw. The 16-year-old from Sudbury looks to begin with a win over Victoria Hu of the United States. Clémence Mercier is just two years older, with the Saint-Roch-Ouest, QC-native going for the upset against fifth seed Sara Saito of Japan in round one.
