Koenig is a former professional tennis player from South Africa, whose won five titles in his career and made it to the semi-finals in the US Open with doubles partner Els Callens. The two talk about his love of commentating and his inspiration from popular 1980’s music.
Ben and Mike next discuss the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, highlighting Novak Djokovic’s 1,000 win and his finals victory against Stefanos Tsitsipas. The pair then draw on highlights from the WTA side where Iga Swiatek is now dominating the tour, winning in the finals against Mutua Madrid Open Champion, Ons Jabeur. The podcast also highlights Canadians Bianca Andreescu and Felix Auger-Aliassime both playing big time matches against world No. 1s, Swiatek and Djokovic.
