Fall’s Canadian professional events are staying put in Quebec for the men’s swing and the stakes grow this week at the ITF M25 Montreal following the M15 Trois-Rivières.
For the first time during this Canadian fall swing, on either the men’s or women’s side, three Canucks will be seeded as the host nation seeks its first singles title during autumn’s events.
Juan Carlos Aguilar leads the Canadians as the fourth seed. The Montrealer is in the top half of the draw with wildcards Duncan Chan and Adam Farag-Cao. Chan has potential to play top seed Clement Chidekh of France in the second round.
The bottom half features two Canucks who made their ATP main-draw debuts at the National Bank Open in Toronto this year, Dan Martin and Nicolas Arseneault. Fifth-seed Martin opens against 17-year-old countryman Alexandru Toubi Hebhang Balan, while No. 6 seed Arseneault will see a very familiar face in his first-round match, his twin brother Mikael.
In the same half, American No. 3 seed Daniel Milavsky looks for back-to-back titles after his win in Trois-Rivières last week.

Brotherly love is in the air in the doubles draw. From opening-match opponents to doubles partners, the Arseneault brothers take on No. 1 seeds Ben Jones of Great Britian and David Poljak of Czechia in round one.
Loïc and Xavier Massotte make up the other sibling duo in the draw. The Quebeckers play third-seeds Alan Magadan of Mexico and Karl Poling of the USA in their opening match.
Two Canadians enter as part of seeded teams as Aguilar and Moroccan Taha Baadi are the No. 2 seeds. Richmond Hillian Benjamin Thomas George is the fourth seed alongside American Oren Vasser. The two teams are projected to meet in the semifinals.

The main draw gets underway on Tuesday, but there are three Canadians still competing for singles qualifying spots. Joshua Peck, Nicaise Muamba, and Henry Ren are still alive in qualifying, with their matches also on Tuesday.
