Bianca Andreescu, Kayla Cross, Gabriela Dabrowski, and Ariana Arseneault will represent Team Canada at next month’s Billie Jean King Cup presented by Gainbridge Play-offs.

The tie will take place in Vitoria, Brazil, on outdoor clay courts, where Canada will face Brazil in a best-of-five format. Play begins Friday, November 20, at 2 p.m. local time (12 p.m. ET) and concludes Saturday, November 21, at 1 p.m. local time (11 a.m. ET). The winning nation will advance to the 2027 Qualifiers, while the losing nation will compete in its respective Regional Group I. Both competitions will take place in April 2027.

“We’re excited to compete in Brazil and continue our push toward the 2027 Finals and a return to the Qualifiers,” said team captain Heidi El Tabakh. “We know how challenging away ties can be, but we’re thrilled to be bringing such a strong team that puts us in a good position to come away with the win. We’ll be ready to compete from the first point and do everything we can to get the job done against a challenging Brazilian team.”

Brazil's squad will be made up of Laura Pigossi, Gabriela Ce, Nauhany Vitoria Leme Da Silva, Luiza Fullana, and Luisa Stefani.

Canada, the No. 8 team in the Billie Jean King Cup rankings, enters the Play-offs after falling 3-1 to Kazakhstan in the Qualifiers. Brazil (No. 19) advanced to the Play-offs after winning its Regional Group I, defeating Chile, Argentina, Peru and Mexico. Canada leads Brazil 12-0 in their head-to-head, with its most recent victory coming in 2013 when Sharon Fichman and Dabrowski clinched the tie in the deciding doubles rubber. Canada was crowned world champions in 2023, defeating Italy 2-0 in the final.
